The AKN reported that during the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in the fight against transnational organized drug smuggling groups. “Taking into account the changing political situation in Afghanistan, the activation of organized criminal groups in the region and the increase in drug smuggling in Tajikistan, the parties expressed their readiness to intensify bilateral cooperation,” the ministry noted.

According to the agency, in 2021 in Tajikistan, all law enforcement agencies and law enforcement agencies seized more than 4 tons of narcotic drugs from illicit trafficking, which is 68.4% more than in 2020. It is noted that in 2021, the volumes of seized heroin and hashish more than doubled compared to 2020.
