Tesla has started accepting Dogecoin

Purchases made through cryptocurrency are not subject to refund, exchange or cancellation.

Tesla has announced the acceptance of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency as payment for some goods. The relevant information appeared on the website of the electric vehicle manufacturing company created by Elon Musk.

The company’s store presents clothing items, accessories, cars and other items. Products available for purchase with cryptocurrency are marked with a special icon. The Tesla website notes that purchases made through Dogecoin are not subject to refund, exchange or cancellation. It is also emphasized that the online store does not work with other cryptocurrencies.

Elon Musk himself wrote on Twitter on Friday that Tesla products can now “be bought for Dogecoin.” Previously, he repeatedly spoke positively about Dogecoin on his microblog.

Cryptocurrency is a kind of digital currency, the creation of which is based on cryptographic methods. The functioning of such systems is based on blockchain technology – a decentralized database in which information storage devices are not connected to a common server.

Tesla was founded in 2003. At first, the company specialized exclusively in the production of electric vehicles, but later it also began to create solar panels and other energy storage systems. In October 2021, the company’s market value exceeded $1 trillion for the first time.
