The President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen called on Europe “not to dance to the tune” of head of the White House Donald Trump, if we are talking about issues on which the positions of the EU and the US diverge. He said this in an interview with Welt.
According to Van der Bellen, the US withdrawal from the Comprehensive agreement with Iran and the subsequent ban for European companies to do business with Tehran under the threat of sanctions – “this is too much.”
The same concerns, the President of Austria noted, and many other issues.
Recall that in January, the US Ambassador to Germany sent a letter to a number of German companies, in which he said that participation in the project of the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany on the bottom of the Baltic Sea “Nord stream-2” is fraught with sanctions.
