Today, on December 12, as a result of complications caused by a stroke, writer Anne Rice, author of the novel “Interview with a Vampire,” died. This was announced on her Twitter page by her son Christopher Rice.

The writer died at the age of 80. The funeral will be held in the mausoleum of the family at the Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans (USA) in a narrow circle.

Rice’s son also said that next year a celebration will be held in memory of the author, to which her friends, readers and fans will be invited to participate.

Anne Rice was born on December 4, 1941. She published her famous book in 1976. The novel was the first in the Vampire Chronicle series. It was filmed in 1994. The main roles in the film were played by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst.
