The administration of US President Donald Trump is secretly negotiating with the chief aides of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, trying to organize his peaceful removal from power. The newspaper The Wall Street Journal writes about this.

It is noted that on the Venezuelan side, the main negotiator is the Chairman of the National Constitutional Assembly Diosdado Cabello, against whom the US is dealing with drug trafficking.

The overall objective of the talks is to find a way out of the political crisis in Venezuela.
