“Sex and the City” began airing in 1998 on the HBO cable channel, a total of six seasons were filmed. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Candace Bushnell. The action of a multi-part comedy drama about four friends, independent successful women, takes place in New York. The TV series raises various social topics: feminism, the role of women in modern society, same-sex relationships, sex and love. The continuation of the series was a continuation of the story of friends who “go from the difficult realities of life and friendship at the age of 30 to even more difficult realities of life and friendship at the age of 50.”
Despite the equal importance of the heroines, each episode is built around one of them – the author of a popular column in the fictional newspaper New York Star – Carrie Bradshaw, whose role was played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Her character enjoyed wide popularity during the broadcast of the series, and later was recognized by critics as one of the outstanding female characters in the history of American television. In 2008 and 2010, two full-length films based on the series were released – “Sex in the Big City” and “Sex in the Big City 2”.
