The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Karim Khan, said he would open an investigation into possible war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine. Khan, a British lawyer, added that he had instructed his team to explore possibilities for collecting evidence.

Earlier, Lithuania called on the court in The Hague to launch an investigation into possible war crimes of Russia and Belarus in Ukraine. Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said: “What Putin is doing is murder and nothing else, and I hope he will be in The Hague.”

There is a growing amount of evidence indicating the use of cluster munitions by Russia, in particular, during the bombing of residential areas of Kharkiv.
