The Swedish premium boat manufacturer Candela has unveiled the Candela P-12 electric hydrofoil taxi.
The new electric taxi will replace traditional diesel models: it is 8.5 meters long and can accommodate up to 12 passengers.
Hydrofoils during movement almost completely raises the boat above the water. In addition, this system helps to reduce energy consumption, noise levels and provide a smoother boat ride. The company says the vessel virtually eliminates the possibility of seasickness in passengers and has less environmental impact.
The Candela P-12 electric taxi can reach speeds of up to 30 knots or 55 km / h. Its autonomy is more than two hours at a speed of 20 knots or 37 km / h. The battery can be fully charged in an hour.
The company notes that their development is 85% cheaper in operation than analogues with gasoline engines.
