The European Union has included Russian officials, businessmen and journalists in the sanctions lists.

The list includes high-ranking Russian officials, including the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, Deputy Secretary of the United Russia Party Andrei Turchak, and director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Peter Fradkov.

Among the sanctioned entrepreneurs are the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Gennady Timchenko, the head of Transneft Nikolay Tokarev.

Russian journalists Anton Krasovsky, Olga Skabeeva, Arkady Mamontov, Tigran Keosayan, Roman Babayan, writer Zakhar Prilepin were also on the sanctions list.

The chairman of the Board of Directors of Sheremetyevo Airport, Alexander Ponomarenko, cellist Sergey Roldugin and the insurance company Sogaz were also subject to restrictions.

Earlier, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU countries approved the second package of personal and economic sanctions against Russia.
