On April 7, members of the European Parliament voted to impose an immediate ban on the import of Russian energy carriers.

On Thursday afternoon, MEPs supported an immediate ban on the import of Russian energy resources such as gas, oil, coal and nuclear fuel.

The ban was supported by 413 deputies of the European Parliament out of 552 present. It is noteworthy that only 46 deputies abstained from voting and 93 opposed.

It is noted that the decision of the European Parliament is purely advisory in nature and not necessarily for execution by the countries of the European Union.
