Johnson & Johnson has announced the recall of a number of its products.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating how a chemical capable of causing cancer got into Johnson & Johnson sunscreens.

Earlier, Johnson & Johnson announced that as a result of testing, traces of benzene were found in some samples of goods produced by it.

The company tested its products after the online pharmacy Valisure found benzene in more than a dozen sunscreens from various manufacturers and reported it to the FDA. After that, Johnson & Johnson recalled five of its sunscreen products sold under the brands Neutrogena and Aveeno.

Valisure suggested that the raw materials from which the recalled goods were produced were contaminated with benzene.

Doctors believe that the risk to the health of the consumer is minimal because the doses of benzene found in sunscreens are too small.
