The launch of the H-IIA carrier rocket to Mars with the space probe “Hope,” created by engineers of the UAE, from the Japanese island of Tanegashima took place. The broadcast was conducted on Twitter of the mission.

The launch took place at the scheduled time – July 20 at 01:58 UAE time.

“Off the ground. The H2A rocket carrying the Hope probe into space was launched from the Tanegashima space center in Japan,” the mission said on Twitter.

Initially, the launch of the Emirati space probe al-Amal was planned for July 15 but was postponed several times due to bad weather on the Japanese island.

Called by Emirati authorities the first Arab mission to Mars, the entirely constructed probe by Arab scientists and engineers is scheduled to reach the red planet in 2021, when the UAE will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state’s founding.
