A meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers was held.

The G7 countries expressed their readiness to increase pressure on Russia against the background of its armed invasion of Ukraine.

This is stated in a statement published by the German Foreign Ministry following the meeting of G7 foreign ministers.

Following the results of the last videoconference, the parties were unanimous in the opinion that the sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation “had a significant impact on the economy of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

These sanctions “are directed against those who are responsible for the illegal attack on Ukraine, and not against Russian civil society,” the statement says.

“The G7 is ready to increase this pressure,” the G7 foreign ministers noted.
