The Paralympic Games will be held from August 24 to September 5.

The husband of US Vice President Kamala Harris, Douglas Emhoff, will lead the American delegation at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. This was announced on Tuesday by the press service of the White House.

“The second gentleman of the United States, Douglas Emhoff, will lead the delegation,” the message says. The delegation will also include the Charge d’affaires of the United States in Japan, Raymond Green.

The Paralympic Games in Tokyo were to be held from August 25 to September 6, 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competitions were postponed for a year; now, they will be held from August 24 to September 5. A total of 539 sets of medals will be awarded at the Games.
