The International Court of Justice of the United Nations in The Hague ruled that Russia should stop the military operation in Ukraine, Judge Joan Donoghue said.

“The court decided to take the following temporary measures: Russia must immediately suspend the military operation in Ukraine, which it began on February 24,” the judge announced, reading out the decision at the meeting, its broadcast was conducted on the court’s website.

According to Donoghue, Russia must ensure that any military or irregular military unit that is under its control or support, as well as organizations or individuals controlled by it, does not take any further action on the military operation.

“Both sides of the proceedings should refrain from any steps that could aggravate or expand this dispute in court or make it intractable,” the judge said, reading out the decision at the meeting, which was broadcast on the court’s website.
