The invaders of the tanker in the Gulf of Oman left the ship

A group of armed men who seized a tanker in the Gulf of Oman left the ship, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

“The ship is safe. The incident is over,” the report says. At the same time, the name of the ship was not specified.

The incident became known earlier on Tuesday. It was noted that the seizure occurred to the east of Fujairah (UAE). According to the Lloyd’s List maritime transport information service, the Asphalt Princess tanker was seized.

This is the second such case in less than a week. So, on July 29, unknown persons attacked the Mercer Street tanker sailing under the Liberian flag in the Arabian Sea. Two crew members were killed: citizens of Romania and Great Britain.
