Robert Durst killed his girlfriend to hide the circumstances of his wife’s disappearance.
A jury has found multi-millionaire Robert Durst guilty of the murder of his girlfriend Susan Berman, committed in 2000. He was also found guilty of some other crimes – most likely; he will be sentenced to life imprisonment.
The judge will deliver a verdict on October 18. Durst is 78 years old.
Durst is suspected of killing three people over the course of 39 years, including his wife Kathleen McCormack, who disappeared in 1982. According to the prosecution, Durst shot Berman to hide the circumstances of the murder of his wife.
Another alleged victim of Durst is Morris Black, his former neighbor. In 2001, a jury acquitted Durst, although he admitted that he cut up Black’s body and threw it into the river.
Six years ago, HBO recorded Durst’s phrase: “What was I supposed to do? Of course, kill them all.”
