The German Ministry of Economy has suspended the certification process of the “Nord Stream-2” gas pipeline, said the head of the department, Robert Habeck.
According to him, the geopolitical situation and the state of the energy market require a new assessment of security. The gas pipeline will not be launched without this, the minister stressed.
The Ministry of Energy has withdrawn the report on “Nord Stream-2” from the Federal Grid Agency on behalf of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“It sounds technical, but it is a necessary administrative step so that the certification of the gas pipeline does not happen now. Without certification, “Nord Stream-2″ cannot be put into operation,” Scholz explained, in turn.
