The number of forest fires in southern Turkey has been halved

The extinguishing of five forest fires continues in the south of Turkey, including four in the resort province of Mugla, said the head of the communications department of the presidential administration, Fahrettin Altun.

The day before, the Turkish Forestry Department said that the extinguishing of 12 forest fires continues in the south of the country, including nine in the provinces of Antalya and Mugla. As the head of the Ministry of Health of the republic Fahrettin Koca reported earlier, the number of people killed in forest fires in Turkey has increased to eight, the victims – to 864.

“Since July 28, 220 out of 225 forest fires have been brought under control, in five points of the provinces of Mugla and Isparta the fires continue,” Altun wrote on Twitter
