The new package of military assistance to Kyiv may be estimated at $750 million.
The Pentagon is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with Mi-17 helicopters and Humvee SUVs in a new package of military assistance. This was reported by The Washington Post with reference to representatives of the American administration.
These officials confirmed to the publication the data previously reported by Reuters. According to them, the new package of military assistance to Kyiv may be estimated at $750 million. At the same time, they clarified that the final decision on what specific types of weapons will be contained in it has not yet been made.
According to them, as part of the preliminary plans, the package included howitzers, unmanned aerial vehicles of coastal protection, as well as radiation, chemical and biological protection suits. At the same time, they stressed that it is not yet clear whether all these items will remain in the final package.
On April 8, the White House said that after the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Washington provided Kyiv with more than $1.7 billion in security assistance.
