The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, arrived in Taiwan, got off the plane at the airport of the Songshan Air Base in Taipei; she was greeted by local officials, according to a live broadcast of the CTI TV channel.
Pelosi is wearing a pink suit, a protective medical mask on her face, and a necklace, presumably made of large white pearls, around her neck.
This is the first visit of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives since 1997.
