The presidential statement calls for joint work “to build a world that recognizes the dignity and infinite value of every human being”
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have sent congratulations to all Orthodox Christians on the Easter holiday.
“We rejoice with you in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the victory of light over darkness,” the presidential statement reads.
“At this sacred time, we offer prayers for all those who suffer from the brutality of war and persecution. We grieve together with all those who have lost loved ones or are afraid for their safety, and once again dedicate ourselves to work in the name of peace and justice, in the name of freedom and security of all people,” the President and First Lady said, stressing that “this year we have once again witnessed how Orthodox Christians strengthen our country and the world: through compassion and service to others, demonstration of interfaith solidarity, protection of religious freedom for everyone.”
