Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the heads of eight EU countries were in favor of Ukraine’s early entry into the alliance.

According to him, we are talking about Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Estonia. Duda noted that the presidents of these countries expressed “deep confidence that Ukraine deserves the immediate prospect of joining the EU.”

Meanwhile, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said during a debate in the national Parliament that it is currently pointless to discuss the prospects of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

Earlier, the President of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the EU member states want to see Ukraine in the community. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, it is time to make a decision on the country’s membership in the European Union.

In February 2019, the Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, fixing the country’s strategic course for joining the EU and NATO.
