The Su-27 was escorted by an American reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea

The Su-27 fighter jet rose to escort the RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force over the Black Sea, it was not allowed to violate the Russian border, the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation reports.

It is noted that on Wednesday, Russian airspace controls detected an air target approaching the borders over the Black Sea.

“In order to identify an air target and prevent it from violating the state border of the Russian Federation, a Su-27 fighter from the air defense forces on duty in the Southern Military District was lifted into the air. The crew of the Russian fighter identified the aerial target as a strategic RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force and escorted it over the Black Sea,” the report says.

“The flight of the Russian aircraft was carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace. There has been no violation of the state border of the Russian Federation,” the release adds.
