Bridget Brink thanked everyone “who supports this critical mission.”

The U.S. Ambassador to Kiev, Bridget Brink, said that she met with the U.S. military from the 82nd Airborne Division, which is stationed in Poland on the border with Ukraine.

“I spent this morning with the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States, which participates in the U.S. efforts to assist Ukraine in self-defense,” the American ambassador wrote on Twitter. “As the U.S. Secretary of Defense [Lloyd Austin] said, we will make more efforts and move faster to deliver the necessary assistance to Ukraine on the battlefield. Thank you to everyone who supports this critical mission,” Brink added.

The U.S. Ambassador did not say where exactly the meeting with the U.S. military took place. She posted a photo on her Twitter page with soldiers of the 82nd Division. There is an inscription in Polish on the building in the background, based on this; the Ukrainian media concluded that the diplomat met with the U.S. military in Poland.

At the beginning of February, the number of the American military contingent in Poland was 5 thousand soldiers and officers. In the middle of the month, additional units of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States began to arrive in the country with equipment. According to the Polish authorities, the total number of U.S. military personnel stationed in Poland has been increased to 10 thousand.
