The U.S. and the EU will create a working group for the early introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation, the press service of the German Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement following Saturday’s talks of Western leaders.

“Among other things, a working group will be created with the participation of representatives of the United States and the European Union to ensure the early introduction of sanctions and the freezing of assets of sanctioned individuals, their families and companies,” the statement said.

The leaders of the USA, France, Canada, Italy, Great Britain, Germany and the head of the European Commission took part in the talks, which were held in an online format.
