The document for the approval of the military aid package has been on the president’s desk for several weeks, the NBC TV channel notes.

The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has prepared a package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 200 million, but suspended its dispatch, despite numerous appeals from Kyiv. This was reported by NBC, citing sources.

According to him, Washington wants to delay sending aid in order to try to reduce tensions around the situation with Ukraine with the help of diplomacy. According to one of the sources, the document for the approval of the military aid package “has been on the president’s desk for three to four weeks.”

At the same time, in the event of an escalation of tension, the U.S. authorities are considering a significant increase in the volume of military support to Ukraine. According to the TV channel, the composition of the aid package is still unclear, but Kyiv called on the American authorities to send them anti-missile and anti-tank missiles, electronic suppression systems, radars, ammunition, and medical supplies. The White House, the Department of State, and the Pentagon have not yet responded to the request to confirm this information.
