The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan advised Americans not to come to the Kabul airport

The diplomatic mission also recommended being especially careful when they are in a crowd and follow the instructions of the local authorities.

The U.S. authorities recommend that Americans in Afghanistan, because of the possible danger, do not come to the Kabul airport on their own unless they have received appropriate instructions. This is stated in a statement published on Saturday on the website of the American Embassy in Kabul.

“Due to potential security threats at the entrance to the Kabul airport, we recommend that U.S. citizens avoid traveling to the airport and not be near the entrance unless you have received appropriate individual instructions from a representative of the U.S. authorities,” the diplomats noted.

The embassy also recommended that Americans be especially careful when they are in a crowd and follow the instructions of local authorities.
