Former U.S. President Donald Trump has a chance to return to the White House following the results of the presidential election in 2024. Signs of his possible re-election were noticed by the American edition of Politico.

According to the publication, the basis of Trump’s strategy for returning to the presidency will be working with five wavering states that ensured the victory of the current American leader Joe Biden in 2020. We are talking about Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which in total gave Biden 73 electoral votes, which became the key to his victory in the elections.

According to Politico, since last year, Trump has already held four rallies for his supporters in these states and supported dozens of Republican candidates running for top positions in these regions, trying to secure potential allies for the next presidential election. In particular, in Michigan alone, the ex-president in recent months has supported 11 Republican candidates in elections within the state and at the federal level.

As a result, according to the results of a recent poll that turned out to be at the disposal of the publication, at the moment Trump is ready to support 8 percent more voters than Biden, in Georgia – by 3 percent, in Michigan – by 12 percent, in Pennsylvania – by 6 percent, and in Wisconsin – by 10 percent.

“These new data clearly show that today voters in these five key states would be happy to return Trump to the White House and send Biden home,” Tony Fabrizio, a leading sociologist of the Republican Party, said in an interview with Politico. According to him, Trump remains the most prominent figure among Republicans and will certainly be able to become their candidate if he decides to run in 2024.

In addition, the newspaper writes, the seriousness of Trump’s intentions to lead the United States again is evidenced by the fact that his team has engaged in active work to attract sponsors for the future election campaign. So, on December 2, the largest fundraising event will be held at Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, which will bring together all the main donors of the Republican Party. Also one of the political action committees (political action committee; Trump’s Save America PAC recently hired one of the former aides of the ex-president Lynne Patton, who will have to help him with the formation of political coalitions.

According to Trump’s advisers, the politician will announce his decision to participate in the presidential elections of 2024 if the Republicans show a good result in the midterm congressional elections to be held in 2022 and will be able to get a majority in at least one of the houses of parliament.
