The American AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radars, which are capable of detecting the locations of mortars, artillery pieces and multiple rocket launchers, have been delivered to Ukraine.

According to the publication, the radars were provided as part of a $100 million aid package announced by the United States on May 19.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby reported that this package will include 18 155 mm howitzers, 18 tractors for their transportation, as well as three counter-battery radars.

The AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radars were adopted by the U.S. Army in the early 80s of the last century. They are designed to determine the coordinates of the enemy’s firing positions and direct return fire. The range is 24 km.
