The United States conducted a test launch of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the Pentagon said on Twitter.

“The pilots of the 576th Test Squadron worked together with our mission partners from the Space Delta-30 to conduct a working test launch of the Minuteman III rocket,” the report says.

Such tests are necessary to monitor the readiness of weapons systems, the ministry noted.

According to the military, the test launch made it possible to convince the country’s allies that the American means of nuclear deterrence are “safe, reliable and effective.”
