In particular, they demand to provide Kyiv with fighter jets, long-range anti-aircraft missiles and anti-ship missiles.

American lawmakers are demanding that President Joe Biden expand the supply of military aid to Ukraine. This was reported by CNN with reference to a letter sent to the American leader.

According to CNN, more than 30 lawmakers from both leading American parties are demanding that the administration expand the list and increase the number of weapons that Washington supplies to Kiev. In particular, they ask that the United States provide Ukraine with fighter jets, long-range anti-aircraft missiles, as well as anti-ship missiles. In addition, they are asking Biden to increase the volume of deliveries of drones, Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Stinger man-portable air defense missile systems to the Ukrainian military.

According to CNN, the relevant requirements of lawmakers are based on a request from the Ukrainian side received last week. The TV company previously reported that representatives of Ukraine had submitted to the U.S. Congress a list of weapons and other types of assistance, which they expect to be supplied by Washington. It included, among other things, drones, artillery, anti-aircraft and anti-tank complexes, anti-ship weapons, surveillance systems, as well as Su-25 attack aircraft. Earlier, Washington rejected Warsaw’s proposal to transfer Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters at its disposal to Kyiv by transferring them from a base in Germany to Ukraine.
