The Senate of the U.S. Congress called for the refusal of gas and oil supplies from Russia. The relevant law was supported by all 100 members of the upper house.

According to CNBC, the bill duplicates the previously signed decree of American leader Joe Biden, introducing the same ban. Because of the granting of the status of the law to the successor of the current U.S. president, it will be harder to cancel it. The House of Representatives will consider it on April 7.

Earlier, the Senate also approved a bill to deprive the Russian Federation of the most favored nation status in trade. The document will still be considered by the House of Representatives.
