The UN Secretary-General announced the date of the meeting with Biden

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he plans to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday.

A high-level week of the UN General Assembly session will be held from September 21 to 27.

“I believe that I will meet with President Biden on Monday,” Guterres said.

Earlier, the newspaper Politico, citing sources familiar with the situation, reported that the U.S. president intends to convene a global summit on the fight against coronavirus. It is expected that the summit will be timed to coincide with the high-level week of the regular session of the UN General Assembly. The publication notes that some countries have already been informed about the American leader’s intention to convene an international conference. Still, Washington has not yet sent formal invitations to other participants.
