Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray will make a joint statement on the matter on Wednesday, the Justice Department said.

This step is being carried out simultaneously with new sanctions against banks and Russian officials. The U.S. administration and its allies are announcing the introduction of these sanctions today.
