The International Court of Justice of the United Nations in The Hague will hold hearings on March 7-8 on the issue of preventive measures in the framework of the proceedings between the countries.

The United States expects that the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague will urgently respond to Kyiv’s request for preventive measures in the framework of the proceedings between Russia and Ukraine on the violation of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide. This is stated in a written statement issued by the head of the press service of the Department of State, Ned Price.

“Given the serious nature of the crisis in Ukraine caused by Russia’s unprovoked invasion, we believe that the court will take into account the most difficult circumstances and rapidly unfolding events, and we also hope that it will respond urgently to Ukraine’s request for preventive measures,” the diplomat said.
