The U.S. Department of Commerce has put 27 companies on the list of organizations that threaten the national security of the country. This is reported in a statement on the agency’s website.
It is noted that these organizations are based in China, Japan, Pakistan, and Singapore. The American Ministry of Trade has also imposed export restrictions on the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
The head of the department, Gina Raimondo, said that global trade institutions should support peace, prosperity and well-paid jobs, and no risks to national security. According to her, the decision of the Ministry of Trade on sanctions is aimed at preventing the use of American technologies for military purposes of Russia and China. “The Ministry of Commerce strives to effectively use export controls to protect our national security,” the politician concluded.
