The United States has begun to evacuate employees of its embassy in Kabul

The United States has begun evacuating diplomats from its embassy in Kabul, media reported on Sunday.

According to the Reuters news agency, two unnamed American officials announced the beginning of the evacuation on Sunday. “Now, while we are talking, we have a small group of people leaving, most of the employees are ready to leave… The embassy continues to work,” one of the officials told the agency.

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Saturday that he had authorized the deployment of up to 5,000 US military personnel to ensure the security of the reduction of diplomatic personnel in Afghanistan. He noted that we are also talking about the safe evacuation of Afghans who helped the U.S. forces in this country.
