The United States plans to reopen its embassy in the Ukrainian capital in the foreseeable future. This was stated on Sunday by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a press conference in Berlin following an informal meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of NATO member states.
“We are reopening our embassy in Kyiv. We are taking all necessary precautions, but such work is underway. We will resume operations very soon,” he said.
Charge d’affaires of the United States in Ukraine Kristina Kvien arrived in Kiev on May 8. Earlier, she expressed hope that the work of the diplomatic mission could be restored by the end of this month.
