The United States has offered assistance to the Ukrainian authorities in connection with the cyberattack on Ukrainian ministries. This was announced on Friday by the press service of the National Security Council (NSC) of the White House.
“We are in contact with Ukraine and have offered our assistance, as Ukraine is studying the consequences and nature of the incidents and recovering from them,” the NSC noted.
“We will provide Ukraine with any assistance it needs to recover,” the press service added.
According to her, the United States “continues to assess the impact of the cyberattack on Ukraine, but so far it looks limited: access to websites is returning.” U.S. President Joe Biden was informed about the incident.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) announced on Friday that it is investigating a large-scale hacker attack on a number of government websites, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, which occurred last night. The website of public services “Diya” is also temporarily unavailable. The work of most of the affected state resources has already been restored, the remaining sites will be available in the near future. The SBU claims that hackers posted provocative messages on the main page of the hacked sites, while the content of the sites was not changed, and the leakage of personal data, according to preliminary information, did not occur.
