Deputy Head of the U.S. Department of State Wendy Sherman said that the choice is up to the people of the country.

The United States will support the decisions that Ukraine will make for itself, the choice is up to the people of the country. This was stated by the deputy head of the U.S. Department of State, Wendy Sherman, answering the question of whether Washington would support Kyiv’s adoption of a neutral status.

“We will support the decisions that Ukraine will make for itself. We have been saying from the very beginning of this crisis that we will not do anything with Ukraine without Ukraine. We will not do anything with Europe without Europe. And with NATO without NATO. So the choice is up to the people of Ukraine. We support the decisions they have made,” she said.

Earlier, a representative of the office of the President of Ukraine said that Kyiv could discuss with Moscow the neutral status of Ukraine, but with a clear package of security guarantees.
