The US and EU agree to end the dispute over Boeing and Airbus production

The US and the EU have agreed to settle a trade dispute over aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus, which has been subject to multibillion-dollar reciprocal duties, US Trade Representative Katherine Tai told reporters.

According to her, the United States wanted to demonstrate leadership among other democratic countries.

“Today’s announcement that the US and EU have reached a 5-year agreement on the 16-year-old Boeing-Airbus dispute serves that purpose. This eliminates the long-term trade irritant in the US-Europe relationship,” Tai said.

In addition, according to her, the US and the EU have agreed on a joint confrontation with the PRC.

“We agreed to work together to challenge and counter China’s non – market actions in this sector in concrete ways that reflect our standards of fair competition,” Tai said.

According to her, in particular, we are talking about cooperation on investment and technology transfers.
