The US authorities at the request of Beijing agreed for two weeks to postpone the increase from 25% to 30% of duties on goods from China worth $ 250 billion Message about this American President Donald Trump published on his Twitter page.

“At the request of Vice Premier of the State Council of China Liu Khe, as well as due to the fact that October 1, China will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding, we agreed as a gesture of goodwill to postpone the increase from 25% to 30% of duties on products worth $ 250 billion from 1 to 15 October”,-wrote the American leader.

On September 1, the US imposed additional duties of 15% on goods from China worth $ 112 billion. Trump noted that one of the reasons for this measure was China’s failure to fulfill its promise to increase purchases of American agricultural products. The second part of the fees will come into force on December 15. China in response imposed the first part of additional duties of 10% on American products of $ 75 billion. Additional charges of 5% on imports from the United States will be introduced on December 15. On the same day, China will also impose additional duties of 25% and 5%, respectively, on American cars and spare parts.

Earlier, Trump announced that from October 1, goods from China for $ 250 billion will be subject to duties of 30%, not 25%, as at present.
