According to Reuters, the measures should come into force simultaneously with lifting existing restrictions on entry from some countries.
The US administration is developing measures to oblige almost all foreigners entering the country to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus. This was announced by a representative of the White House to Reuters.
The measures should come into force simultaneously with lifting existing restrictions on entry from some countries. However, they will act in relation to all foreigners at once.
According to the White House representative, “a phased implementation plan will be developed, which after some time will mean that, with rare exceptions, foreign citizens [from all countries] who enter the United States should be fully vaccinated.”
At the same time, the agency’s interlocutor noted that right now, the current restrictions on entry will not be lifted since the situation with the coronavirus in the United States has worsened somewhat at the moment. Nevertheless, interdepartmental working groups are developing a plan “so that the new system will be ready when it will be possible to resume trips.”
Currently, the US authorities prohibit the entry into the country of most foreign citizens who have been in the UK, the Schengen states, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil over the past two weeks.
