The US has moved strategic bombers to the Middle East

The United States has deployed B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers to the Middle East, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement.

“The US air force B-52H Stratofortress crews assigned to the 5th bombardment wing at Minot air force base, North Dakota, completed a short-range flight to the Middle East on November 21 to deter aggression and assure US partners and allies of support,” the statement said.

It is noted that the last time an American long-range bomber was present in the Middle East at the beginning of this year.

At the beginning of the week, acting US Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller said that the number of US troops in Afghanistan until January 15 would be reduced from 4.5 to 2.5 thousand people. He stressed that this is in line with the plan and strategic interests of the United States. Later, the White House said that President Donald Trump expects a complete withdrawal of US troops by May 2021.
