The US military will be obliged to be vaccinated against coronavirus

All US military personnel will be required to be vaccinated against the coronavirus by September 15. This is with reference to the Pentagon document being prepared for publication, the Associated Press reports.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that he is waiting for approval of this step from President Joseph Biden. “I am ready to act and soon (…) if I understand that it will be necessary. To protect the nation, we need healthy and combat-ready armed forces,” the agency quotes him as saying.

It is noted that vaccination is especially relevant for the armed forces since military personnel on military bases live close distances — and the infection can spread very quickly in their places of deployment.
