The US national basketball team suffered a second defeat in a row in preparation for the Olympic Games, losing in a friendly match to the Australian team.

The game in Las Vegas ended with a score of 91:83 (24:27, 13:19, 32:18, 22:19) in favor of the Australians. Patrick Mills scored 22 points for the winners, while Damian Lillard scored 22 points for the Americans.

In the previous match, the Americans lost to the national team of Nigeria (87: 90). Gregg Popovich’s team will play the next test game against the national team of Argentina on Tuesday in Las Vegas.

The Games in Tokyo, postponed from 2020 due to the coronavirus, will be held from July 23 to August 8. The US national basketball team has won gold at the last three Olympics. The opponents of the Americans in the group stage will be the teams of France, Iran and the Czech Republic.
