US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the US military has largely managed to achieve the goals set in Afghanistan.

“We have been successful in many ways in achieving our goals in Afghanistan, but there is no military solution to the conflict in this country,” Blinken said in an interview with Al Jazeera during a visit to Kuwait.

On Wednesday evening, Blinken arrived on an official visit to Kuwait on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA, he held talks with the Emir of Kuwait on Thursday, Nawaf Al Ahmad Al-Sabah. After the talks, Blinken said that the United States and Kuwait are cooperating on the issue of providing assistance to the Afghan people and supporting regional stability against the background of how the coalition forces are withdrawing from Afghanistan.
