The US is ready to conclude a new nuclear deal with Iran to ensure that it does not receive weapons of mass destruction. This was stated by United States Secretary of state Mike Pompeo in an interview with the German newspaper Rheinische Post.

“We are ready to conclude a new deal with Iran if its authorities are ready to guarantee that the country is not working on nuclear weapons that threaten the world,” Pompeo said and added that the US will never allow Iran to obtain such weapons.

He also stressed that the missile program is not the only danger emanating from the Islamic Republic. Its authorities, according to the diplomat, sponsor the Hezbollah movement — and this will not correct the atomic energy Treaty in any way. Therefore, according to Pompeo, the possible lifting of us sanctions should also be associated with international terrorism. Iran, in his opinion, should also stop sabotaging the independence and sovereignty of neighboring Iraq.
