The US Navy reported that the Russian fighter flew at high speed directly in front of the aircraft performing the task, which endangered the pilots and crewmembers.

Russian fighter Su-35 conducted an unsafe interception of the American reconnaissance aircraft P-8A Poseidon over the Mediterranean Sea. This is stated in a statement issued on Tuesday by the press service of the sixth fleet of the US Navy.

“On June 4, 2019, the US P-8A Poseidon aircraft, flying in international airspace over the Mediterranean Sea, was intercepted three times by the Russian Su-35 for 175 minutes. The first and third interactions were considered safe. The second interaction was defined as unsafe because the Su-35 flew at high speed directly in front of the aircraft performing the task, which endangered the pilots and crew members,” the press service said.
